Handling

The 2019 Acadia relies on the Traction Select technology to overcome hazardous weather conditions and rugged terrains. You'll see all of the system's driving modes on a rotary dial in the center console. The Off-Road Mode compensates for low traction on unpaved surfaces, and the Snow Mode adjusts the wheel spin on a slippery road. The Sport Mode optimizes multiple mechanical settings for a smooth drive on a highway. Additional modes in the Traction Select include the Trailer/Tow and AWD. A twin-clutch system boosts the performance of the Acadia's highly responsive drivetrain. Additionally, the StabiliTrak technology balances the wheels and chassis under challenging driving situations. When equipped with the Terrain Management System, the 2019 Ford Explorer also gets maximum traction on different landscapes. A single mode in this signature technology is tuned for grass, gravel and snow. However, this Ford doesn't have double clutches in the Intelligent 4WD system. The Continuously Real-Time Damping also gives the GMC model an edge over the Ford Explorer in overall handling.

Utility

The cargo area in the 2019 Acadia has a class-exclusive storage compartment in the floor. This innovative design significantly increases the total cargo capacity without sacrificing comfort. Engineered to facilitate adjustments, the Smart Slide technology is included in the second-row seats. A 50-50 configuration provides extra utility for the seats in the third row. The Acadia also has an automatic climate control system with three distinct zones. A climate control console is installed in the second row for personalized comfort. A 120-volt power outlet and dual USB charging ports are located below the HVAC controls. Having the patented Dual SkyScape technology, the sunroof includes dual glass panes with express opening and closing. Sunshades can be retracted to control the amount of sunlight coming through the sunroof. An automatic heating function for the steering wheel is another convenient amenity that's optional in this GMC SUV.

Technology

The Front and Rear Park Assist technology measures the distance between the 2019 Acadia and surrounding objects. This driving aide is active when the speedometer reading is 5 MPH or lower. The Front Pedestrian Braking is another class-leading safety feature in this GMC model. When you follow another car too closely, the Forward Distance Indicator will alert you. Some of the car's other accident-avoidance features include the Side Blind Zone Alert and the Rear Vision Camera. The Safe & Smart Package surely gives the 2019 Explorer some great accident-prevention features. However, the versatile Acadia offers better overall value in safety.
